Available Feed Chutes
The chipper can be used with
two types of infeed chutes: the F260 slab chute and the DF230 and DF
232 drop spouts.
The F260 has a control bar
that runs on top of the feed chute. The feed can be interrupted by
the control bar. The wide feed chute is used for slabs, poles and
other materials that need not be compressed.
The DF230 and DF 232 drop
spouts are gravity fed, and can be used together with conveyors.
Ease of Operation
The low feeding point ensures effortless feeding of the chipper.
The operator can stand with a straight back. The discharge
direction is adjustable 360 degrees.
The chipper stands up by itself on the ground and is easy to hook up
or remove from the tractor.
Power Requirements
Due to the inertia of the heavy and large rotor, power units down to
35 HP can be used. About 7 HP is required for every inch of
round wood diameter. Thus, to chip a 5-inch round wood, you need a
35 HP tractor (7 X 5 = 35)
Safety Features
The Farmi chippers do not have any knife motion toward the operator-this
reduces the risk of loose material flying back through the feed
chute.
The discharge height is 7'11" above ground
so the discharge is above eye level. To accomplish safe operation
in various wind directions, the Farmi chipper's discharge direction
is adjustable 360 degrees.
The deflector bonnet enables placing the
chips near or far. The Farmi chippers also have several
noise-reducing features. The discharge opening is above ear level.
It is adjustable and can be directed away from the operator.
