I think this unit will be a great addition to my attachments for my yanmar 1500d tractor.

I installed this unit on my John Deere 1025R Sub Compact tractor, and to turned it into a log handling beast. I use it regularly in my portable sawmill business to move sawlogs. The largest logs I’ve moved were 32” x 20’ Doug Fir. The blade digs in, the 24 hp tractor engine growls, and the logs come right out of the woods! I love it.

I bought the 30M for my John Deere 1025R in May of 2020 and I have already put it through its paces. It does a great job hauling up to 28″ diameter white pine over 12′ long. I added a self-releasing snatch block also from Hud-Son which seemed costly but is worth every penny. Helps to get the log around obstacles if it gets
caught behind a rock or a stump. Took down an 80′ tall White pine with a 28″ diameter base, which I cut in 13′ sections for my wood mill. Although the JD is not powerful enough to lift the winch and the log and pull it, I just set the winch to free spin after the log get to it, drive to my next bend in the logging trail and pull to
that point, then repeat. I am more limited by the turns in the logging trail than I am the length of the cable which is more than long enough for what I do. I have never had to add it’s length. The only thing I wish it had was a built in holder for my saw on the back like the 35M but was concerned about whether my tractor could lift the 35M. Make sure you have weight in your bucket before you pull a really big log so you don’t stand your tractor up. This winch really helps me access the trees on my 50 acres of land in upstate NY. Final note, It doesn’t work with the i-match quick attach, but it is fairly easy to hook it up once you get the hang of it and once I have it on, I don’t usually switch implements very often. Great Product!
