Removing dead white birch trees due to pesky porcupines with my Hud-Son Forest Equipment Uniforest 35M forestry logging skidding winch.

The electricity to the camper has been repaired and now using the Hud-Son Forest Equipment Uniforest 35M logging winch to remove the trees that were damaged over the winter by miss porcupine. I’ve caught and relocated miss porcupine in an earlier video. Now to get the camping site ready for another season. We’ll be working on the old house soon now that the porcupine is gone. Hopefully she is gone for good.

Alright. So here’s the campsite. Eventually we will have the camper sitting back up here right next to the water and all the electric connections.

Miss porcupine has been very busy. I know it’s a creature that has to survive every year but I wish they’d move it along somewhere else. Not my camping site. The love birch trees and these white birch trees is a nice snack for them.

Usually they climb them and start eating from the top while sitting on the branches and what have you. This particular birch here she’s gone all around the base of it. I think you can see it and taking the back off so that trees not gonna last and it’s near the camp.

So what I got to do is try to get some of these trees down that are near the camp that might not be long for this world.

I’d rather do it now when camp is not here. So that’s what I’ll be working on.

Alright so I want those birches to fall to our left camera and if you could see in the lower left corner firepit.

I want the birches to fall. That tree that’s just behind the firepit or just kind of behind it to the right. I want those birches to land right in between that and that’s Bert in the four wheeler.

I’ve got double pulley’s so I should have about fourteen thousand pounds force and I’m really not pulling it right now.

I’ve just got a little, just a very little bit of strain on it. Just to help it go in the direction I want it to.

Originally, those were leaning pretty much right towards the camera so it went down exactly where I wanted it to. Just beyond where the blue type is. That’s the fun fireplace.

There’s a tree behind the room just a little bit to the right of the fireplace. I wanted it on the other side of that and this side of that birch. It landed exactly where I wanted it to.

Okay. So I’ve got my helpful wife with me today. Linda’s over on the tractor with the Hud-Son Forest Equipment Uniforest 35M forestry skidding winch and I’m still working around our electric lines here. Making sure that these trees I’m cutting go away from the electrical lines.

This little birch, you can see the electric pole is right here and I want to keep it going away from the electric pole.

So this little one I’ve got to go to the right and the big one has to go to the left.

So let’s see how this works out!!!

Alright. You folks probably can’t see it. Let me zoom in. There’s one lone branch right there sticking out the right hand side of that white birch.

I want to try to get a throw line around it and then I’m going to get my strap up high. Hopefully. We’ll see.

Alright. So I’ve got the Hud-Son Forest Equipment Uniforest 35M logging skidding winch hooked up to this big white birch. I’m going to try to pan around a little bit so you can see now I got it hooked.

I mentioned in previous videos how handy skidding winches like the Hud-Son Forest Equipment Uniforest 35M forestry winches are.

I’ve got two pulleys at least double if not triple the pulling force and again that’s so that we can pull down this big tree.

I’m gonna make my slicing notch and then I’m going to put a little strain on it so that the felling notch will make it go in the direction I want it to go.

Alright. So were getting ready. So apparently my camera died. I’m not sure if I got the video or not but the tree went right in the direction I wanted it to go!!

Tree laid right across the driveway. I mean it really had no choice pulling it from one direction.
