Hud-Son Sawmill Brings Family Pride

Hud-Son Sawmill Brings Family Pride

Like most wives, I rolled my eyes in doubt at my husband’s idea of buying a sawmill to help build our house. It sounded crazy to me until I realized the prices of building materials. We live in a doublewide mobile home in the hills of Jackson, Kentucky. We both work full time jobs and have always dreamed of having a “well-built” home from the lumber on our own property. So, since my husband is a very good woodworker we bought the sawmill in Spring of 2005. My husband purchased an Oscar 28” portable sawmill and has been burning it up ever since. Everyone is always surprised at the quality and savings the sawmill has provided us.

When the project is done, it will be something we can be proud of for a lifetime. Hopefully, my son will appreciate what his dad has built. He is only 10 years old, and in a world where most things are prefabricated and low budget made, we’re hopeful that he will learn to make things with pride that will last. For the price and quality of something made in the USA we are very satisfied with this machine.

Thank you,
Mrs. Joene Strong
